Prom is coming up and i need help!!!?

so i have a zebra print prom dress. the white in my dress isnt a very white white, its more like a cream color dingy white. and its made from a silky fabric, so its kinda shiny. i also have candy apple red high heels. well, i have no problem with this...but my date got a silver tux. he said the tie was silver too and the undershirt was black. do you think this will look okay together. keep in mind that my white in the zebra print isnt a bright white like most zebra prints are. help? he said the lady at the store where he got it said it would look good with my dress...but shes never seen my dress and shes probably imagining my dress and WHITE and black. not CREAM and black. and she probably just wanted to make a sell too.
