Will petroleum jelly/Vaseline help my sun burn?

it hurts a lot i went to an amusement park 2 days ago and i didn't put on sunscreen so now my arms shoulders and back and chest have sunburn only my shoulders are blistering/bubbling and their the only thing that hurts but i heard vaseline helps but will petroleum jelly? if not what r some good ways to help the sting not hurt so much? i can't even wear a shirt! i have to wear an undershirt and even my bra straps are hurting me!!! if i extend my shoulders it hurts like crazy and the blisters/bubbles are popping and gooing and it's running down my arm and it's gross cuz i can't wash it off cuz it hurts too much and it's crusting over...
