Did I technically get beat up?

Here is the full story: Yesterday I was outside and my friends twin brother spit gum on me, I took the gum off and put it on his back. Then his brother start pushing me and then he pushed me again and walked away I decided to grab him and I ripped his undershirt on accident. So he started talking crap and I decided to fight him. I start beating him up and i made him cry, then 10 minutes later he gets 2 of his friends to jump me, is two other friends tripped me then he got on top of me and start hitting me and bust my lip. BTW, These guys are nine and im 12.I thought it was unfair because he had help. So I know this is retarded but did I get beat up because he bust my lip or did he get beat up because he cried?
