How do i keep drama out of my life?

Ugh. Everywhere I go, drama clings to me. I was at a summer camp for 4 days, and everything was going well until the last day when this girl started texting me telling me i was rude and to stop gossiping. The girl was gossiping about me also so i sent her a text back telling her stop it and leave me alone and to stop starting things. I know i shoundn't have answered but i just cant help it! she told one of the counselors and the counselor called everyone out and read the texts. It was really embarrassing! Please help. Drama is always around me. Sorry if it sounds like I'm ranting but I need help.
