Is this appropriate in America on mine and the restaurants part?

I found something that I thought looked to be a hair. However, after sometime I reacted and really could not be sure. So, the man from the restaurant, a staff manager, took my fork after I showed him and stirred it around into the food. So to cover up the evidence. They issued me a free pizza afterwards, during the serving of the pizza the manager said he talked it over with his crew and confirmed no hair. Did I just get owned!?
