Eating imported cabbageworms?

During my family dinner tonight my grandma found a large worm/caterpillar in her broccoli and as we all started searching we found TONS more in each persons serving. I just wanted to double check that this insect wasn't poisonous in any way. My aunt is pregnant so I am just being a little extra careful.
